This session is with William Grace, Partner at Offshore Law Firm Carey Olsen. William advises finance industry clients on all aspects of financial crime and regulatory and compliance related problems.
Seminar Content
The higher risk business model was developed originally by William Grace for Iranian sanctions advice, he has refined it over the years and uses it for a variety of his bespoke higher risk engagements in order to help clients make sound decisions and document decision making processes to a standard that will satisfy later scrutiny by regulators. Examples of current use extend from sanctions, through various higher risk take-on scenarios to portfolio company acquisitions for funds. In a practical discussion he will demonstrate how the model is suitable for use in a broad range of business decisions and in fact simply reflects a rational approach to thinking and decision taking in regulated business. The model has been significantly refreshed, ready for the challenges of 2021 and he will demonstrate its applicability across any jurisdiction with a graphic example from practice.
