“Overview of the Isle of Man Equality Act 2017”
Members of DQ’s Employment Team, Kim Emery and Lizzie Beard will be presenting an overview of the Isle of Man Equality Act 2017 and how this applies in practice throughout the employment relationship. This presentation offers a practical insight into the various claims which can be made under the Act and the impact on both employers and employees alike.
Biographies of Speakers
Kim Emery
Kim Emery is a senior associate within the Corporate and Employment Teams at DQ. With a particular expertise in employment law (and being the only dual qualified HR professional and employment advocate), Kim advises on all matters of employment and HR ranging from reviews of contracts of employment, consultancy agreements and cross jurisdictional issues to dismissals, redundancies and executive level settlement agreements. Kim is also currently the Chair of the CIPD Isle of Man branch and regularly presents and provides in house training on various topics of employment law.
Lizzie Beard
Lizzie is an associate in DQ’s Dispute resolution and Employment team having been commissioned as an Isle of Man advocate in November 2023. Lizzie advises and assists on all areas of employment law including both contentious and non-contentious work and has a particular interest in advising and providing training in matters relating to the Isle of Man Equality Act.
