This series focuses on the current trends in financial crime, as well as looking at the future of compliance within the financial services industry. Covering a wide spectrum of topics within the financial crime prevention landscape, this series of webinars provides invaluable updates and insights to industry practitioners towards the end of what has been a challenging year, on a global scale.

Karen Badgerow was appointed to the position of Chief Executive of the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority on 1 November 2015. Prior to this she served over 30 years with the Canadian government in senior roles in financial services regulation. Most recently Ms. Badgerow was Senior Vice-President with the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation heading up their Insurance and Risk Assessment Division. Before joining CDIC, Ms. Badgerow spent over 25 years with the federal banking and insurance regulator, the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions, and was responsible in her last position for oversight of the federal banking sector. Ms. Badgerow has also represented Canada on a number of international committees including the Senior Supervisors Group and the FSB's Supervisory Intensity and Effectiveness Committee.
Ashley Whyte is Senior Manager of the AML Unit of the Isle of Man Financial Services Authority and has worked at the IOMFSA for 13 years, previously focusing on new licence applications and now responsible for AML/CFT matters concerning the IOMFSA. Ashley is involved in AML/CFT policy matters such as keeping the AML/CFT framework up to date and working on action points relating to the Island's MONEYVAL mutual evaluation which took place in 2016. Ashley is also responsible for the operation of the AML/CFT registration and oversight regime in relation to the Designated Business sector.
